Howard’s sea going career with Bibby commenced in 1973 as an Engineer cadet, serving on a variety of vessel types, in all ranks, until he was promoted to Chief Engineer in 1984. Howard sailed as Chief Engineer on Oil Tankers, Methanol Carriers and Gas carriers, and in 1993 he decided to come ashore, again to work for Bibby. Since then he has held a wide variety of roles, including ‘Drydock Repair Manager’, New Build Manager, Production Platform Manager, Ship Manager, Floating Storage Unit Manager and General Manager. Howard has served as a Director since 2006 for numerous Bibby Companies, including Bibby Offshore, Bibby Ship Management and currently Bibby Marine Ltd, Bibby Marine Services Ltd, Bibby Marine Management Ltd, Bibby Maritime Ltd and Bibby Hydromap Ltd.

Derek Judd

Fleet Manager

Derek started his seagoing career in 1974 sailing on Oil Tankers, Bulk Carriers and Gas Carriers before joining the Bibby Line as Second Engineer in 1987. Derek was promoted to Chief Engineer later in the year and spent the next 10 years sailing on a variety of Gas Carriers and Chemical Tankers.

Derek is now currently Fleet Manager with Bibby Marine Management Ltd.

My hobbies include the following: -

Phil Moss

Marine Superintendent

Phil comes to BMML via a career as deck officer on tankers, mainly, but also Ro-Ro ferries, Dive Support Vessels and dredgers. He then spent several years in the offshore oil and gas industry in the control room of a floating production platform in the UK sector of the North Sea before making the move ashore to manage the QHSE aspects of a fleet of high-end seismic research and offshore construction vessels.

Having always had a particular interest in maritime safety and safety management principles, he draws upon experience and knowledge in both shipping and oil & gas to develop and continually improve safety performance in systems, equipment and the people on board.

Matt Thomas

QHSE Manager

As Quality, Health, Environment and Safety Manager Matt is responsible for the development and continual improvement of management system compliance in line with legal, voluntary and Client requirements, rules and regulations. Having served his time as Operations Manager with Bibby-Harrison Management Services Matt took up the position of Quality Assurance Manager where he was responsible for setting up operating systems for the new in-house technical management entities working in UK, India, Singapore and latterly Australia helping to steer Bibby’s through their various joint-ventures, partnerships, mergers and acquisitions.
